KAUAI TRAVEL UPDATE
TRAVELING TO HAWAII
All trans-Pacific travelers to Hawaii of all ages, including returning residents, are subject to the State of Hawaii’s 10-day quarantine, unless you have an exemption.
STARTING APRIL 5th, KAUAI WILL REJOIN HAWAII’S SAFE TRAVELS PROGRAM. If your travels require you to arrive on Kauai prior to April 5th, please call us for travel options.
TESTING EXEMPTION: All trans-Pacific travelers over the age of five arriving in Hawaii have the option to get a valid NAAT COVID-19 test from an approved testing partner prior to their arrival, and show proof of a negative test result, to avoid the 10-day quarantine. Evidence of a negative test result must be provided upon departure to Hawaii If test results are not available before boarding the final leg of the trip, the traveler must quarantine for 10 days or the length of the stay, whichever is shorter in a quarantine approved hotel, not a vacation rental.
Pre-Travel Steps:
All travelers are also required to complete a mandatory online travel and health questionnaire. Please complete the mandatory Safe Travels digital form no sooner than 24 hours before you depart at https://travel.hawaii.gov/#/.
Please refer to the State of Hawaii’s COVID-19 trusted travel partners site for the list of approved test providers: https://hawaiicovid19.com/travel-partners/.
For a step-by-step overview of Hawaii’s pre-travel requirements process and options, you can download a quick reference chart or visit the State of Hawaii’s Travel FAQ page.
County of Kauai law requires face coverings for all over the age of five when one cannot guarantee that you cannot maintain a physical distance of six feet. Also, please avoid large gatherings and be sure to wash your hands frequently.
NORTH SHORE UPDATE: On March 10, 2021 heavy rains triggered a series of small landslides and then a massive landslide happened on March 11, covering Kuhio Highway approaching Hanalei Bridge therefore cutting off land access to the North Shore. Since then, state and county crews and contractors have been working to clear the highway. Currently there is limited access to the public and we suggest not including trips to Hanalei and beyond until normal access is permitted. For an update on access, please check the State of Hawaii Department of Transportation website.
